July ND Total
August 3, 2008 No CommentsMy hope for July was to see the ND total reach $100 and based on June stats it did look promising for a while, however it fell short and I only racked up $73.14, it won’t cover renewal fees anytime soon nor Nominet tag however it will pay for website hosting.
The secret to parking is traffic, what’s the quckiest way to get hits and clicks, legally, that’s an easy enough answer, get indexed in the engines and spidered so how am I going to do that? after talking with colleagues or rivals… I have decided to open an account with Imodo, decided and trying, it’s the weekend and I think they need to manually approve his highness on to their books.
Hopefully I can move several hundred fairly limp no visitor domains to their offering, get indexed, see if they generate income there, if traffic just picks up then I’ll move back to ND, if they earn then I’ll stay. I should be doing a lot more, the domains are good in their own right but whilst holding on to them, they should earn me money otherwise the asset isn’t achieving or covering itself.
I was out Saturday afternoon anyway so no work being done, went to a posh little garden restaurant named Eclipse before walking up to the area behind the Rugby Ground for the Massive Attack concert, very entertaining, I’m really getting into concerts these days – all my money used to go on football so it’s good to enjoy new stuff, not my pick, a girl mate’s idea but the whole affair was fantastic.
After which we ended up near where I live at a secluded invitation only bar, very nice, I could have slept there, and a living room DJ up the stairs, half of us then went on to Herastrau (the largest public park in Europe) to a Cafe playing at being a club for the night. However I think I’m getting old, I didn’t sleep much the night before so maybe a reason but we left at about 4am after taking advantage of the public toilets, bushes and trees.
I still love it here, a mate asked me recently if he thinks I’ll stay in Romania, consider that I’ve been here since March 2007 I think that’s a given, he hadn’t realised I’d been here so long already, I just wish I’d moved five years ago, good things come to those who wait, and the same goes for parking and revenue with any luck. Shall we? we shall! Let’s take a brief look at the top performing domains.
I know they’re not doing $70 a day but still. Holidaysholidays.co.uk came in at $15.56, cups.org.uk still doing well $3.49, vue.org.uk has gone silly with click price, 32 clicks only resulting in $2.67 keyword change there for August me thinks, Zacks.co.uk gifted me a one click wonder of $2.47. Fancydressonline.co.uk, bridesrus.co.uk, singlesscene.co.uk, jonnies.co.uk and spurmo.co.uk are still doing the business. If only I could get another 50 domains doing similar.
A little bit of maths, top 10 equates to $43.01, an average of $4.30. If I can get 50 more doing the top ten average, 60 x $4.30 x 24 = $6192, half way to covering renewal fees, let’s hope Imodo accept me Monday so I can get started on changing things for the better or trying at least. I want to get parking right so this may take another six months to exhaust all avenues and get several hundred working in my favour.
