A Grand Old Day

October 29, 2008 No Comments

Good hello, it’s Wednesday, midweek and I fancied a challenge… £1000 in a day. I’ve sent out over fifty emails showing my wares, priceless – no literally so I am awaiting offers on those. I’ve given myself 24 hours to reap the rewards and I hope to get at least half of what I’m after by close of business Thursday, have a butchers at this clip.

I found this little ditty from Monty Python on YouTube, it seems appropriate. Before writing this I have had one email back offering £100 for four, I replied with £63 for two – see how that goes, no response yet. They wanted broadband-free.co.uk, cups.org.uk, holidaysholidays.co.uk and plasmas.org.uk however I’m only willing to let go cheap the first two.

4pm: £63 on the table… £937 remains to grab. It would be nice to get the full target in by the end of tonight and in the bank proper as needs must and I as always, must need. £1000, how hard can it be? 6pm: £50 in for another. 8pm, 1am and 2am, three offers in. 11am and £100 sealed on two chocolate domains with payment on way within two hours. £787 now left on the targetometer. Now to seal the other two deals.

3pm: One has pulled out completely, doesn’t want to make an offer, and the other has whittled their bulk down to a few with my counter offer now being £110 or £160 with one extra. Tick tock. The last one pulled out too, they wanted two good ones at a cheaper price, didn’t want the three but the five – it’s never easy, meanwhile 6pm: I just offered 25 domains for £500 and 8pm: sold one for £75 to a regular. Down to £712. This total isn’t going down fast enough.

Thursday 10pm: I got the last puller outer back on and took their offer of £220, better than £110 I hear you say but I had to let go two more domains seemingly cheap, only time will tell. Meanwhile target now at £492. Surely I can do it now? The regular who proffered £75 earlier will look at the list I sent a bit later so maybe a few more quid to come from that, I’m really disappointed in the lack of email replies, the countdown continues. Midnight and £508 gleamed. I didn’t try hard enough.
