Irregular Amy
October 1, 2008 No CommentsWho’s Amy? Not sure, I was going to write army as my updates have been thin on the ground and don’t ask me why I just regged ground.org.uk after writing the word, it dropped yesterday and was free to reg, a quick check with google shows 378 million references globally, 28 million uk’gb’ally… come closer there’s more, 673,000 broad searches in September and 823,000 on average and exact 1600 / 1900 - oops.
Moving on.
It’s been a slow month, I did $49.35 on parking last month which considering I changed nameservers to hosting on 80 domains half way through it isn’t a bad return, only I am yet to attach websites to them. On the sales front, again it’s been slow – sold one disputed domain midweek which got public attention, they got their domain, I got some money for my troubles and my rent. I sold FlightsHotels.co.uk on the cheap last night too, £350, want to see the conversation?
It kind of went a bit like this; they offered “£100,” I touted “£500 according to July’s price list,” as I was in an ok mood and just fancied the sale, he said “£250 credit crunch”, I said “£400 some arent affected,” he replied “£350 by paypal,” I said “£350 but I still take bacs,” he said “done.” And I said to myself, “I think I just have been!!” Now having researched the buyer and seen domains regged beforehand I should have started out at £1000 or £1500 as they’re two top keywords and a business moving in, oh well, money in the bank, money already spent and that’s life and I have 1100 more domains where that came from.
The month was slow but ended well, got rid of LuckyYou.co.uk for £300, took some money up front from clients for future domains to be caught, flogged NewDoors.co.uk for £50 yes I know!! And back at the start of the month £240 on a batch and several other small amounts amounting to £200 odd and one paypal for £246 which I can’t recall what was for. Was it an ok month? I got paid by TD too, a day late and 70% of my rent is in.
You know I like to mix personal with business so thanks to TD paying, me and a lady friend managed to get away to Brasov Saturday morning for the day out and played tourist and I’m away again tomorrow to Campulung with a couple of mates who have a family house up there – a three hour drive I’m told, not sure what we’ll do but knowing how much fun I am, we’ll find something. I didn’t do much in September, Bulgaria wiped me out a bit and left me searching 3000 lei for rent, £300 for mortgage and a bit more for bills and I paid 600 lei to dentist (really am sorry) which pays off the work done IN JUNE.
It’s a shame we need money to live, between you and me I fell for a girl this summer, well spring just summer went so quick because of her. I knew once we’d been on holiday the second time that we’d argue, I just sense these things, we talk but now we don’t understand what each other wants so a weekend away beckons and probably a cold, long, workaholic winter which every man needs now and again to get the stupid idea out of his head that he can actually be of some use to someone haha, loved ever minute, would be nice to go back to how things were though but they never really do, do they?
Sales update, parking, holidays, yes I think that’s it, affiliate commission not worth mentioning, only that one company gave me £64 in a sale only to take it back and claim their adwords campaign was last referrer, bollocks – but you keep your money. Oh and domains I’ve caught lately, want to see? I’ll do a post after this one as I haven’t done that for a while, I got ChildrensRoom.co.uk (sold) and Halloween.org.uk, also domainer interest in AvailableRooms.co.uk (LEEOWEN) - .com regged recently - used me noggin and got the reverse also, RoomsAvailable.co.uk, I’ll reveal more of my catch later.
I always remember the saying “it’s better to have loved and lost love, than not loved at all” how is it they never say, “it’s better to have been stabbed and lost blood, than not stabbed at all” silly b’stards. Happy Christmas sales period and a spooky Halloween.org.uk (LEEOWEN) mwahahaha *Oh yes and I paid a Nominet registrations invoice of £480 but I’d had a lot on unallocated for some time, so they’re happy an’all. Aint ya Julie. “Our Julie,” she’s not scouse – and neither am I. Grandad!
