Back To Basics
December 4, 2008 No CommentsIn 2003 I started a website called Morewards.co.uk - it was one of my very first forays into affiliate marketing, once I had figured out such a medium existed. I played around with banners and bought stuff myself, did it work? didn’t it? half of the time it did. I was very sceptical about the tracking and I was proved right too many times as tracking had to be followed up.
They say we go back to what we know when times are hard, times aren’t hard just banks aren’t lending to each other or us, if I was Prime Minister I’d make them lend but I’m not and he’s buggering up the country again. As so many millions of people are still employed and will be getting fat at Christmas mainly because petrol and energy is cheaper, vat has been reduced and mortgage payments are going down, little Timmy is getting three enormous chickens this year and the poor sod has got to carry them. Hobble hobble, bwark bwark bwark, hobble hobble. You can’t laugh at the disabled – yes you can it’s Christmas!!
Yes as many millions across the UK and europe and america are employed and will be spending lots and lots of their lovely dosh, we affiliates must get their attention, make them come our way and spend our way so we too can reap the rewards of Christmas, I’m going back to basics and what worked for me, I can spend all day changing datafeeds and get a trickle of visitors but bung up a page of content and I’ll be flooded.
Call it what you like, a mess, an ordinary bog standard directory of sites however time to cut the talk and make the walk and get the site operational again, it’s an old site, it may do ok, the proof is in the pudding. I’ll let you know how I get on, the only problem is it isn’t instant money like domain sales, hopefully I’ll shift one today for several hundred, that’ll pay the rent.
