Welcome to the most expensive designer chandeliers for sale at Houseology. Ranging from £1000 up to £10,000 they’re not the most expensive in the world but as interior design goes, they are some of the most inspirational and evocative available online today.
No matter your home environment, below you will find a selection to match any style of decor. You may be surprised at how well these designer chandeliers will fit into your living room, hotel lobby or office reception and most certainly overwhelmed by their nature.
Designer chandeliers have always been the pride of the upper class. Today they denote money, style and function so not much has changed in that respect. For any home owner looking to seek favour with their neighbours and show class or for a business looking to overwhelm a client with design and a welcoming reception, these contemporary chandeliers will do the trick.
So to the most expensive chandeliers for sale at Houseology. A range of antique chandeliers to rival any French or German concoctions. Desirable contemporary chandeliers from Gino Sarfatti, antique turned modern chandeliers from Chelsom and Moooi.
Oh and Moooi Chandeliers are burgeoning on the insane but we love them. Check out their paper chandelier, and especially take time over the Heracleum Pendant Designer Chandelier which is a remarkable feature of nature in itself.
Which leaves Eichholtz to fill the void in the top ten most expensive designer chandeliers for sale at Houseology. Originality and a blend of classic chandeliers with the more traditional lends their design house to not only produce a brand new design but achieve an archetypal offering in the same vein.
Brass and chrome structures, round and oval chandeliers, steel to paper and wood all feature. Venetian glass pendants, polycarbonate lenses and LEDs amaze with heightened technology advances and designs from antlers, to spider lamps and Moooi’s Heracleum to Tom Kirk’s Innermost Facet Aluminium Pipe Chandelier. Let’s get to it…
10. Gino Sarfatti Steel Flos 2097 Pendant Light – 30 Arm Brass Chrome Chandelier
At number ten in the most expensive designer chandeliers for sale at Houseology arrives a fifty year old design which still today is as contemporary a chandelier you will ever find. Often art throws up its problems.
Many designers try to hide wires and spend an age creating more hardship, others like Gino on the other hand, dispense with all that tragedy and lay life’s complications for all to see. Not just the once either. Across six protruding chrome or bronze arms, you can lace the wiring as you see fit.
Available in chrome or brass with a central steel structure, the arms of which there are no less than thirty, stretch across the ceiling along five tiers. The trailing wires which power the incandescent lamps are laid bare and form a part of this Steel Flos 2097 Pendant Light – 30 Arm Brass / Chrome Chandelier.
9 Steel Oval Chelsom Naples Florentine Antique Silver Leaf Pendant Lamp Chandelier
This steel chandelier would not look out of place in a hall celebrating Mozart or another musical giant, nor would it have looked out of place at the Chelsea Barracks. With it’s trumpeting centrepiece and gold or silver form, the black shades a top the branches give it an air of Royalty.
The oval Chelsom Naples Florentine antique chandelier has six hanging arms which rise from trumpeting centre. Calling forth light to all areas of your room.
Made from steel with silver leaf, it can be customised to any colour. It is unique in that is also an oval chandelier – who wants round anyway!! View.
8. Moooi Paper Chandelier Contemporary Wooden Cardboard & Papier-Mache
Did you ever want to live in a doll’s house? Well now you can. To think how far humanity has come in several centuries technology wise, for someone in 2013 to create a lampshade out of materials that are so simple like erm, cardboard, papier mache and well paper, and pay so much for it, I’m astounded.
Yet I’d challenge you to create the same desirable effect that this one of a kind paper chandelier offers. A firm, long lasting structure built from wood and marvellously arranged with bright white paper and mache effect, it’s worth every penny.
Not only is it a contemporary chandelier but a classical chandelier also with its 17th century design uniquely holding six effervescent candle bulbs at its sides. The most expensive designer chandeliers made out of paper, this certainly is. Well done Moooi! View.
7. Moooi Heracleum Pendant LED Light Contemporary Designer Chandelier
Although not the priciest, at number seven in the most expensive designer chandeliers for sale at Houseology comes the Moooi Heracleum pendant LED light. So called as it is based on the natural design of the aforementioned plant.
Latin always sounds better but the common name would be Hogweed or as we believe this particular design to be base upon, the Cow Parsnip which is quite apt coming from a brand called Moooi.
The contemporary chandelier is unique in that it is based on a very fragile, thin and delicate metal frame with an assortment of polycarbonate lenses. Leaves which offset and maximise the light emitted by any of the sixty three dimmable, yes dimmable LEDs.
This branch of lights descends upon your living room or hall space below like a natural plant with each of the leaves having the ability to be repositioned.
The whole ensemble which replicates the striking beauty and complex yet simplicity of nature, is hung from an ultra thin suspension wire. As designer chandeliers go, this is one of the best. View.
6. Ron Gilad Moooi Dear Ingo Powder Coated Steel Modern Chandelier
The gargantuan spider which is the Moooi Dear Ingo Powder Coated Steel Modern Chandelier clings to your ceiling inviting your unsuspecting guests to be transfixed in its abstract form.
Octopus or spider, I won’t argue, but the design is one of busy and functionality all in one simply but effective contemporary chandelier. If you love lamps, then this is the way to go.
Designed by Ron Gilad, it holds 16 lamps, each of which can be moved as you please to highlight any area of your room. Made from powder coated steel and available in black or white, it is a room feature that is a working art form.
Designer chandeliers are usually of an obscure design and amassing so many lamps in one piece certainly makes for the unusual. Moooi once again strikes a pose and carries it off into the limelight. View.
5. Eichholtz XL Horn Resin Antler Designer Chandelier With Shades
Before you go all Deerhunter on me, pause for thought. Imagine an empty room and place this wild and funky Eichholtz XL Horn Resin Antler Designer Chandelier atop the ceiling. Then let your imagination run free like the animal these antlers may have come from and fill the room with furniture and interior decorations.
What do you end up with? Well at first this contemporary chandelier evoked heads of shot bears and wolves adorning the room. Then I note the fact the antlers are made from resin and no beasts were harmed in the production.
This gave me room to improve on inspiration. Why not go anti hunter? The antler chandelier positioned high above faux leather sofas and faux fur rugs, mixed with an old fashioned fireplace or new and a sunset red painted backdrop for walls?
Or perhaps the Eichholtz designer chandelier matched with cream curtains, wood effect furniture of the most contemporary design and positioned underneath the most vast of dining tables for family gatherings.
In amongst the entwined white tip antlers are positioned shades from where the light will shine greatly. At 85cm in width and 100cm in height, this behemoth of a resin chandelier will be the talk of your cannibalistic jungle. View.
4. Eichholtz La Coupole Modern Nickel Chandelier With Shades
Forget a French chandelier, get all moist with the addition of a two tier candelabra that offers the home-owner or castle resident to have two chandeliers for the price of five. All set into one stupendous piece of traditional art.
Hanging from the ceiling in fourth in the most expensive designer chandeliers for sale at Houseology comes another extraordinary design from Eichholtz.
Latin I like, French not so much. La Coupole means the Cupola. Go figure… the dome which can be found on cathedrals and other buildings used to let light in and offer a vantage point. It’s either that or a Nazi war bunker in France during World war II.
I feel not the latter. The name resonates with the design of this lighting show piece. Two rows of eight lamps will lighten up any great hall in which it is placed. A modern nickel chandelier with a tradition touch, the central structure holds four globes which in turn could be the Cupolas so referenced by La Coupole. View.
3. Eichholtz Granville Luster 18 Candelabra Antique Chandelier
Low and behold its Eichholtz again. Finally we get down to what an antique chandelier is all about, hanging jewels that glimmer in the light, day and night. I doubt the designers realise the British connection to Granville.
Granville being the shop keeper in Open All Hours and David Jason being Delboy in Only Fools and Horses and the infamous scene of the chandelier being dropped by accident.
That does it for me and in firm position at number three in the most expensive designer chandeliers for sale comes the Eichholtz Granville Luster 18 Candelabra Antique Chandelier. At first glance it’s a very busy and complex display but the longer you linger, the more desirable this designer chandelier becomes.
The antique brass structure which supports the 18 candelabras waves and curves to draw you inside. While the glass pendant droplets which straddle the brass base further confuse the melee with an overflow of reflection across six tiers.
Hang on, make that seven tiers, for at the uppermost part of this antique chandelier there is one last delivery of sparkle with bronze brass hangings delivering one last shower of beautiful glass pendants. A remarkable tower of a candelabra. View.
2. Tom Kirk Innermost Facet Aluminium Pipe Contemporary Chandelier
Beam me up, I’ve landed on a planet that has put Patrick Moore’s xylophone on the ceiling of their grandest hall. Oh boy though, grand it certainly is, made even more grander with this Innermost Facet Aluminium Pipe Contemporary Chandelier finely tuned for their inner sanctum.
Often art and interior design gets lost but not on this occasion. The facet chandelier incorporates steel and aluminium pipes which simply cry out to be used as a musical instrument. Which of course you don’t do as at over £6000 that would be silly.
The design is well balanced and is suspended evenly. The focal point is not the aluminium pipes themselves but the light created inbetween the cracks and crevices. A circle of lines showers guests below, however parts of the spectrum escape to offer dimmer tones higher up. View.
1. Chelsom Glass Rocks Bespoke Pendant 3 LED Chandelier
Now to the most expensive designer chandelier for sale at Houseology and what must also be the most spectacular. A gleaming waterfall of clear Venetian glass rocks pendants stream from the polished chrome ceiling plate above.
It features three very bright LEDs which light up the glass rocks below, allowing light to emit further and sparkle around the room, enticing guests and onlookers to lose focus on their crab sticks and marvel at the Chelsom Glass Rocks Bespoke Pendant 6 LED Chandelier instead.
At just under £10,000 you will be hard pushed to fit this inside your typical living room. Such a splendid array of Venetian glass rocks, which drop to a depth of 300 centimetres will require a vast hall and a very high ceiling unless you will use it as a maypole – which I very much doubt.
Contemporary chandeliers such as these are one in a million, which is why this designer chandelier commands such a high price. That’s it for now, the top ten most expensive traditional, antique, contemporary designer chandeliers at Houseology and there are quite a few more besides the select few we have chosen to highlight at Squillions.
