Jumby Bay Island’s Villa Kairos really does have a premier wow factor, even if it’s initially observed from a photograph. View how the infinity swimming pool seems to flow into the sea from a certain angle. Perhaps it’s the source of the Caribbean Sea? From herein it’s mostly property but one thing to mention first.
Everyone knows people travel to these islands and thousands of miles for sun, sea and serenity but the beach is important, as evidenced when you travel to the Costas and there’s a million people on the sea front and promenade. This Jumby Bay villas owner used up one of their photos to simply take a shot of the beach – as you can see above – ain’t it beautiful and there will be nobody else nearby. Perfect!

Long Island or Jumby Bay Island as they wish it to be known now, is a private retreat that is only accessed by people invited as a guest of a hotel or an Owner. Is it possible to have a day visit to Jumby Bay? No unfortunately not, it’s not for tourists visiting Antigua to simply rock up and say hello or grab a bite to eat at the Estate House restaurant.
This is why when people pay for the right to stay at Villa Kairos in Antigua you know you’ll gain privacy and won’t become lost in the crowd. It’s the in-crowd you’ll be a party too, you just never know which rich or famous person you’ll bump into next – and if you’re already one of those, you have the option to steer clear. Don’t you just get fed up of Tom Cruise? Nice guy but boring! This Caribbean villa rental is a seven bedroom Greco style villa sleeping fourteen people.
A lot of holiday makers seek out beach front villas. This is what makes me laugh the most, this is an Ocean front villa and they even declare it on the listing. No one wants to be ‘by’ the beach these days, they want the Ocean lapping at their toes while they’re taking an afternoon snooze. That’s a great aspect of Villa Kairos, most of the bedrooms have a view of the ocean.
7 Bed Villa Kairos In Jumby Bay Antigua
There are several private beach villa properties on Jumby Bay built to an exemplary standard within acres of land offering privacy, security and a taste of the high life. Actually the only real differences between Villa Kairos, Morning Glory Villa and Lazy Lizard Villa is the layout, location and the buildings which can range from full on equality to all to “well you might be on the daybed but you’re coming!” most of the services and facilities are similar.
How can anybody get bored hearing about them though!?! People who stay at the Jumby Bay Villa which is 8700 square feet of absolute pleasure not only get to enjoy the tropical terrain, the climate but a luxury lifestyle that really motivates you even once departed for home. Oh no, I shouldn’t write such things you’ll never go home!
As with other ocean villas on Jumby Bay it comes with a certain level of expected service. You’ll not need to cater for yourself unless you wish to. There’s a Chef, Butler and Housekeeper who will assist whenever necessary enabling you to enjoy your holiday in Antigua without so much as wondering if any part of the establishment needs cleaning, or leaving the beach early to prepare dinner for the family.
The Chef will ensure that all the guests – despite the dining room table only seating twelve – will have a gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner awaiting them. The Butler is on hand to act like a kind of Hotel Concierge, he’s there for your every whim, more akin your friendly assistant rather than a servant. Of course Villa Kairos has an housemaid who is responsible for the upkeep and will also collect and return your laundry daily.
Upon arrival in Antigua’s V. C. Bird International Airport you’ll have been met by a Villa Kairos representative and no doubt driven by Chauffeur to the private dock that will see your private ferry depart for the very short journey to the very very private Jumby Bay Island. You will then be whisked away to your Idle Time Villa and provided a welcome drink and should you wish, a brief tour of this expansive beach villa property which is situated on the Western side of the Island just below The Veranda – walking distance.
The front entrance is presented by a palm tree filled court yard that quickly rushes towards greco style columns even though this is a single level beach front villa. Atop the gateway to paradise you’ll glance some chairs, this is a roof top seating area that will enable you to while the nights away, observing the landscape both over the island and that of the ocean to the rear.
While it seems nobody can stay in the Master Bedroom in the main villa this may work out to be good and I’ll reveal why. Villa Kairos contains a Den for relaxation, kitchen and staff area, a Great Room, a Dining Room and a terrace. With pergola area for the pool. As the sleeping area is separate from the main residence, people can party all night with the world’s best DJ and Comedian while others snooze the blues of the Caribbean Sea away.
Once you walk through the main building, the 14 metre heated infinity pool is on the other side and simply separates the property from the beach by a mere 5 metres. A swirling stone stair case proudly leads you to the beach where you may choose to remain at your leisure. If veer from the central courtyard in another direction you’ll find the rest of the Jumby Bay resort. Two luxury cottages that contain six of the seven bedrooms available to guests.
They say it’s good to walk a bit before you go to sleep, it’s a fantastic idea. It’s also quite handy as trying to find your bedroom might be a bit like a scene from the 1968 Henry Fonda classic ‘Yours, Mine and Ours.’ Why? Just look at the floor plan for the accommodation area of the villa, separate from the main house, there are two luxury cottages adjacent to each other.
It’s understood that these properties are owned by other people which is why you may ponder why an eight bedroom property is only offering seven to guests. While answers to this quandary of use of the Master bedrooms, Master living room and terrace are sought please feel free to consider the rest of the villa rental in Jumby Bay yours for the taking.
The twin cottages are single level and each have three bedrooms, consisting of two twin beds and one double bed. Although the Villa Kairos floor plan does seem to show that there are more beds it is common villa company policy to have two people per room maximum. Though you can enquire as to whether this is still the case.
It wasn’t a joke about being on the daybed, last minute guests number 13 and 14 step forward. Up a little hill along the path there’s a garage which one presumes will house the golf buggies and bicycles that you can use during your stay at this wonderful Caribbean villa. In the same building there’s an additional bedroom and bathroom. There are no motor vehicles so it’s not a case of sleeping next to the car.
Master Bedroom: King size bed, en suite bathroom. With terrace. Unsure as to whether can be used by guests and resides in the main part of the villa.
2 Luxury Cottage Bedrooms 2, 3, 4 and 5, 6 ,7: Accessible via porch and verandah there are three bedrooms, each with private en suite bathrooms. The largest bedroom has a king bed, the second and third are twin beds.
4th Building (Up the hill) Bedroom 8: A daybed with private bathroom also.
*All have Air conditioning, Ceiling fan.
The Caribbean villa rental may appear a little understated, mainly because it is a lot more compact. Yes it’s mainly all at ground level but there is roof top terracing. The grounds are enough to get lost in but you may find yourself visiting more of the Jumby Bay Resort for spa and wellness services and for tennis, but certainly not for beach access. As you can witness from the Villa Kairos photos a dip in the sea is a minute away.

Can you swim? Because if you’re not booked in you’re going to have to bruv. Seriously this is one hot destination, it’s privacy around the clock. It’s like the best open prison you could ever attend. Only the prison is the outside world and the waters surrounding Jumby Bay Island resort keeps all else out.
You can arrive by private yacht and dock off any property on the island itself. However most people get to Jumby Island by first landing in Antigua. They can do this by cruise ship or use Marina facilities for personal use, alternatively it’s usually a flight into Antigua’s V. C. Bird International Airport. From there a taxi or Chauffeur driven Mercedes to a private dock which houses a private ferry / catamaran which will take the very short five minute journey to Jumby Bay. Simple and no swimming.
For a light hearted meal, as the name suggest, the Poole Grille is perfect for keeping your stomach trim your alcohol level stable and still get in the appropriate amount of time in the sun and sea. The restaurant / bar provides salads, sandwiches, grilled seafood specialities with any kind of alcohol mix and cocktail you require.
There is also facilities at local hotels, the opportunity to visit The Estate house restaurant, The 1830 Bar and take a very short trip across the bay to Antigua where a great many more cafes, restaurants and local street food and bars await with night life to leave you salivating no more.
Why do people ask this question, isn’t it more fun to simply book Villa Kairos, turn up and check out without looking at the bill? I dare you! Seriously if you get invited to a villa on this private island getaway, keep your lips zipped and accept it. If you sugget going Dutch on a restaurant meal you may end up having to re-mortgage your own home.
These are not cheap Jumby Bay villa rentals however the price range is not out of the realms of possibilities as a group booking. They are expensive Caribbean villas but if splitting the cost between 14 people you’re looking at a holiday villa cost of around £5000 each, which is remarkable. Quite you could probably stay on Antigua with EVERYBODY else for three months but that’s not the point is it?
Villa Kairos is about £70,000 to £75,000 to rent as a beach front villa almost right next to The Veranda and coming with Butler, Chef and Maid. Food is built into the cost as are a certain amount of drinky poos. Golf carts are included, some resort facilities also. At £5000 plus flights it’s a holiday of a lifetime but still doable. If getting married it’s wonderful. The Antigua villa that is, I don’t exactly know for sure about your marriage.

You bet your little cotton socks there are! As suggested already, there are three main staff that will meet your demands during your stay at Villa Kairos. A Butler, a Housekeeper and an in-villa Chef. Each providing excellent servitude and included in the price though I am sure you’ll agree, in the modern era a tip might be a nice gesture or at least to understand their needs and a bottle of rum to say thank you!
Do I Require A Hire Car At Jumby Bay?
Not at all, being on the West of the Island a lot of the resort facilities are within walking distance, Rosewood spa and also tennis courts. Guests also have use of two golf buggies which each seat six people, so you can race each other or challenge George Clooney and his missus, although I hear they very much like Italy these days.
Is There A Swimming Pool At Kairos Villa?
Yes, its 46 feet of temperate infinity swimming pool, 14 metres of cool or hot water – it can be heated for the early morning, or cooler to save you from the searing heat of the day. Or just enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean five metres away and relax on sun loungers and top up the tan – because you can’t realistically go back home white / untanned can you?
How Far Is The Nearest Beach From Villa Kairos?
The beach unfortunately is miles and miles away, if you go via America. However if you walk to the rear of the villa it’s about five metres in distance and the other side of the private swimming pool.
What Is There To Do In Jumby Bay?
Relax? After the year I have had, I would choose to relax in the middle of kayaking, hiring out a private yacht, snorkelling every day around the coral reefs, windsurfing, swimming in the private pool, getting rid of the children for a few hours at Jumby Bay resort’s Children’s club and I may even swim around the island twice. I’d relax in-between enjoying the most private holiday villa of a life time. Yes there’s even more activities to partake in!
