Villa Stefanos in Coral Bay, Cyprus is an enigma as it perhaps shouldn’t be situated in the Eastern Mediterranean, instead Italy or Florida. Though it is and very close to Paphos – 3.7 miles away in the Peyia municipality. With an inviting three bedrooms and private swimming pool its the grounds that first surprise, a long carriageway entrance lined with Mandarin orange trees (Mandora) inset of towering conifers.
Landscaped gardens in the hilly western region of Cyprus that are at best 2.5 miles from the nearest beach but a short walk up the adjacent hill and the Mediterranean should be in full sight. The property’s grounds offer complete privacy thanks to yet more conifers lining the periphery offering much needed shade while the sun revolves.

The Coral Bay Villa Stefanos is not a seaside villa, this is the type of location that enables an at maximum 15 minute drive to both Coral Bay and Potima Bay for which a hire car is probably preferable, with six in the party perhaps even two but two trips or a hired minibus is not out of the question, budget permitting.
The beach side frenzy of laying in the sun and dipping into the water, which you may agree is entirely a personal persuasion. On occasions you may be able to stomach the thousands that sprawl across the 600 metre waterfront. That’s when a private swimming pool comes into its own. At a depth of 1.4 metres it’s adequate, OK it’s not one of the Jumby Bay villas but nor are you spending £60,000 for that luxury.
Spacious 3 Bed Villa Stefanos At Coral Bay
The affordable Cyprus villa is above average for the island and is split across two floors. You are at first greeted by a large hallway that has three rooms and a staircase to lead on to. A utility room, a twin bedroom and the open plan kitchen (with mod cons) and dining room with table for six and two further stools at the counter.
Another shorter hall presents the living room space, two comfortable sofas and other seating enable what little time you have on your hands to lounge in front of the large screen TV and receive UK weather reports and the latest football scores. Both the kitchen and living room on the ground floor are at a ninety degree angle to each other.
This enables both rooms to be option able open air and allow all to travel inbetween and across the covered (canvas pergola) patio area which separates the Villa Stefanos residence from the private swimming pool area. Had we chose instead to get rid of any jet lag, we’d discover the first floor of the Coral Bay villa, two further bedrooms both with private terrace and another segregated terrace which all can be accessed via the upper landing.
From this brief tour we can already tell that three couples can easily escape each other which is vitally important. It’s one thing going on a Mediterranean holiday with friends, it’s another returning home feeling that your cheaper Cyprus holiday was affected by others being too close due to a lack of room and gaining no personal privacy. That’s not the case here, plentiful grounds, private terraces and separate en suite bathroom facilities.
Let’s return to the sleeping arrangements momentarily. Villa Stefanos does not have televisions in every room so it could be appropriate to book time in the main lounge during your stay. There is wifi however so laptop film watching is easily accessible. There is no media room. You may consider the ground floor bedroom a little busier with through traffic at the stair well.
The two first floor bedrooms are very nicely furnished and decorated to a good finish. The private terrace of the Master bedroom with double bed is accessed via patio doors. As to is the twin bedroom with terrace that overlooks the side of the gardens. From the upper stair well there is an expansive furnished terrace which overlooks the pool below.
Master Bedroom 1: Double bed, full en suite bathroom and large private terrace.
Ground Floor Twin Bedroom 2: Two beds, which could be pushed together, with en-suite walk in shower. Patio doors with terrace.
First Floor Twin Bedroom 3: Two beds, en suite shower room, private terrace.
*All have Air conditioning, Terrace.
Is this Villa in Cyprus suitable for children? It’s the sleeping accommodation that has me guessing. If it’s two families, each with a child then there’s only one solution, they are to share the ground floor bedroom. Trust will play a big part, as they have full access to the entirety of the main villa and grounds. If the house is on lock down at night it could be ok. Or at the expense of the parents you could provide them the upper floor twin bedroom but I don’t think so…
Villa Stefanos astride of Coral Bay if not a little set back is refined. The main features are definitely the open plan terrace area. It seems to me a little lopsided. Three bedrooms but not all are fully en suite. Expansive upper terrace which should perhaps be built on to provide another bedroom but the interest is the Cyprus villa rental not what the architect was thinking.
What should be gleamed from this is that there is space, lots of it, perhaps far too much for six people. In all the perimeter of the swimming pool which has wide gangways would cater for a party, the terrace to kitchen and living room provides privacy as well as a welcome mingling. With the upper terrace and two private balconies it’s best advised all have a mobile phone or pager.
Saving the best for almost last, the private swimming pool is not the largest but it does come with a separate jacuzzi pool at the rear. Sun loungers enable you to get as many rays as at the beach and there’s even a BBQ for you all to enjoy every night if need be. This should be a popular villa at Coral Bay in Cyprus and early booking is probably a good idea, though there can be late availability prices for some periods.

Take a trip to Philippos Supermarket and blend in with the locals or forget about cooking at the villa and try one of the many restaurants, there is international cuisine but also a turn on British style fish and chips.
Get yourselves down to The Strip and enjoy cafes, bars and where the night life really kicks off. An atmosphere of Cypriot music is on offer in most places with modern music tipping the balance elsewhere. The place doesn’t shut down at midnight but due to local laws it tends to quieten down. Do I Require A Hire Car At Villa Stefanos?
When considering Villa Stefanos in Cyprus it’s wise to understand the demands and needs of the party you are travelling with. Sleeping six people this suggests close family or at least three couples who know each other well or two separate families. Why? Because you are inland, not as much as some other luxury villas in other countries but your daily activities may require use of an hire car and maybe two?
The average person walks five miles an hour, in effect you are only half an hour by foot from Coral Bay proper. Itself a tourist hotspot, while you may like the beach and wish to visit regularly, perhaps choosing a Cyprus villa a little further away from the hustle and bustle of holidaymakers is a pretty good idea. Walking half a hour in the cool late evening or morning is ok but after a day out with little ones in tow, you may wish to weigh up walking vs taxis vs hire car at this hillside villa.
Is There A Swimming Pool At Villa Stefanos ?
Yes, and it’s filled with Samos. No, water. Yes there’s a very new swimming pool in place from 2018 onwards. It’s not infinity style which is actually quite good as where the sun loungers are seated it means you don’t actually have to see everybody in the pool. There’s a small jacuzzi section with bubbles galore which can be quite relaxing.
How Far Is The Nearest Beach From Villa Stefanos?
The beaches of Coral Bay and Potima Bay are about a fifteen minute drive, give or take. Or an half an hour to forty minute walk. It is slightly up hill on the way back. You could get a taxi but most decide upon a hire car. The beach front is 600 metres, while slightly smaller at Potima and with more pebbles than sand.
